A physical block that pairs with your iPhone to instantly block distracting apps. No willpower needed — just tap.
The problem
You know the feeling: you're sucked into your phone again. You've spent an hour scrolling social media, played a game for too long, got distracted on some website, and checked your email four times.
And the things you actually wanted to do? You didn't. Damn.
Less screen time
Picture it — a day where your phone isn't running the show.
That book you've been meaning to read with full attention? Done. It sat on your nightstand for way too long.
The presentation only took an hour once you really sat down for it. Proud, relieved, finished.
For the first time in ages you actually played with your kids. With attention. You hear every word they say. And enjoy every laugh.
A long walk outside with fresh air and the sound of birds. Not the sound of notifications.
Find your attention again.
Order MonoWho is Mono for?
Mono is built for anyone who wants their attention back. Three groups get especially much out of it:
You want to build your business or career — and still have real time for your family and friends in the evening.
You want a healthy work-life balance with real, undivided attention for your kids.
You want to focus on what matters — and still just be yourself the rest of the time.
Why Mono works
Most apps are designed to keep you using them. In the Netherlands that adds up to:
screen time per day
Drag to set your own screen time
of non-stop screen time per year
≈ 61 days
we pick up our phone — about 16× per hour
And every time you pick up your phone, that pattern gets reinforced.
An app that blocks what you open, or a screen-time limit — they leave you depending on your own willpower. A physical solution doesn't. That's what makes the difference.
Mono adds a physical step on purpose:
Feel a bit uncomfortable just thinking about that? Then you know it's time to take the step. It will feel awkward at first. You'll get used to it.
How it works
Mono is designed so you can switch effortlessly between the many roles you play every day. It combines the app with the Mono Block. In the app you create profiles for different moments — a work profile without social media, or "family time" without Slack and email. You decide what's in each one.
Open the Mono app and select the profile that fits the moment — work, family, study or rest. You decide which apps go in it.
Activate your profile and tap your phone against the Mono Block. Your chosen apps are blocked instantly, notifications included.
Open the app, hit deactivate, and tap the Block once more. All done — your phone is fully yours again.
The Mono App
The Mono app works seamlessly with the Mono Block to block distractions, track your focus time, and build lasting habits.

A word from our founders
We kept seeing the same thing happen: hours disappearing into endless scrolling without noticing. You get pulled into social media. Or you check your email for the third time, even though it's the weekend. The line between work and private life blurs — and your phone actively helps it along.
With children, the problem is even bigger. It's as if the phone is glued to their hands.
At the same time, we were part of the problem ourselves for years. With a background in telecom and media, we spent years going along with the same system — selling more data, driving up media consumption, and therefore more time on your phone.
And we want to do something about that. Because all those apps we use every day are designed by some of the world's sharpest minds with one thought in mind: holding our attention.
Call it hopelessly romantic. But the most beautiful things don't happen on your phone. They happen physically, when you're in conversation with each other. Laughing, with attention and presence.
Mono started from the idea that we can make the world a little bit more beautiful by pushing back against excessive phone use.
